2022 Predictions for Kickoff Times and Networks for Georgia Football

NOTES and THOUGHTS by Tony Waller

CBS has announced two doubleheader weekends.

  • October 8th - 3:30pm and 8:00pm

  • November 12th - Noon and 3:30pm

  • Yes, I know I have three CBS games in a row for Georgia.

  • If Mississippi State is better than I think they will be, and if Mississippi is not very good, we’ll have the 3:30pm CBS game and ‘Bama will play Mississippi at noon.

  • Kentucky could be the CBS game. If the East is on the line, it will be.

  • Vandy is probably the hardest to figure out. There are only five SEC controlled games that weekend. Only ‘Bama at Tennessee is easy to predict (CBS). That leaves one ESPN game and three SECN games. We could be at noon on ESPN or any of the three SECN slots, but I’m picking the 7:30 game because the conference won’t put us in the same time slot as Alabama.

  • Man, I’m tired of noon Georgia Tech games. I tried to find a way to hope the game would be anytime but noon.  It won’t be.  The Iron Bowl will be the CBS game. That leaves four other SEC controlled games.  See above about not putting Georgia opposite Alabama, so the 4:30 SECN game is out. That leaves ESPN deciding between LSU at A&M, Louisville at Kentucky, Tennessee at Vandy, and our game. Obviously, I think ESPN puts the Dawgs on to lead their last regular season Saturday slate.

  • Overall, this was easier to predict this year than years past. Being defending National Champion helps, because you are generally being considered for the CBS and ESPN games more.
