Love is in the Air (Love, I Said) as Georgia Bulldogs Football is BACK

We are now t-minus five or four days away until your 2018 Georgia Bulldogs football team tees it up Between the Hedges. After waitin' 234 days (that's 7 1/2 months) between our last game week podcast episode and our latest one, the three of us could not be more excited to finally talk about a real, live football game that our team/your team will be playing on Saturday.

Sure, the opponent is Austin Peay. A school, if I'm honest with myself that I had no idea existed until this season. They're an FCS opponent playing in the Ohio Valley Conference. An FCS opponent that carried a 27 game losing streak into the 2017 season. An FCS opponent that lost last year to 2017 co-national champion (it's for real, look it up) Central Florida 73-33.
Yet, love is in the air here in Athens and all around the Bulldog Nation because we have waited for this the dawning of a new season for so long. Silly FCS opponent notwithstanding, Saturday will be special. Sanford Stadium has a new, updated look, the weather should be spectacular and the Dawgs will reportedly unveil their 2017 SEC Championship banner during pregame.
As we discuss in our latest podcast episode, let's not take this feeling for granted. We need to live in the moment and celebrate what we have as a fanbase right now. Georgia has a dynamic head coach, number one recruiting classes stacked on top of each other and a real opportunity to capitalize on one of the greatest seasons in Bulldog history.
Of course, things might not go as planned once the season kicks off, there might be critical mistakes or worse yet, unfortunate injuries to a key player or two. But, you've gotta enjoy it right now. Soak it all in Bulldog Nation. The long offseason will soon be over and in my opinion, the Dawgs are on the verge of making an extended run as a dominant force on the national stage.
